Common symptoms of an athlete that might be suffering from burnout:-
- Physical fatigue - they are constantly tired and might sleep more than usual
- Mental exhaustion
- Low self-esteem
- Lack of caring
- Loss of interest in the sport
- Lack of desire to play - lost all enjoyment for the sport
- Increased anxiety
- Complains about not seeing any results of his/her hard work and is fighting “a losing battle”
- Exhibits mood swings and gets easily frustrated, aggressive or depressed
- Shows signs of disordered eating or substance abuse
